Round 1 Recap – Scramble Series Tees Off in Style!

June 11, 2026 | Shanty Bay Golf Club – Frontier 9

The wait was finally over.

After months of planning, sponsorships, team registrations, and counting down the days, the Simcoe County Golf Scramble Series officially got underway on June 11th at Shanty Bay Golf Club’s Frontier 9—and what an incredible way to kick off the season.

More importantly than the golf itself, the evening proved that this league is about much more than birdies and bragging rights. Thanks to the generosity of our players, we raised hundreds of dollars for the RVH Foundation, supporting a critical community charity that impacts families throughout Simcoe County. A huge thank you to every golfer who donated and helped make a difference.

Welcome to the Series

Before teeing off, every player received a premium player welcome bag featuring:

  • Official Scramble Series team shirt
  • Custom Scramble Series keychain
  • Metal player card
  • Tees
  • Simcoe County Golf sticker
  • Granola bar to fuel the round

Seeing 15 teams proudly wearing their new shirts around the course really brought the vision for this league to life.

A Tight Battle at the Top

Week 1 couldn’t have been much closer.

After nine holes, Double D’s claimed the opening victory with an impressive 17 points, setting the early pace for the championship race.

Hot on their heels were three teams tied at 16 points:

  • Severn Shank Redemption
  • Mr. Appliance
  • The Happy Gilmores

With only a single point separating first from fourth, it’s already clear that every week is going to matter.

The Mid-Pack Is Wide Open

The middle of the standings is absolutely packed.

K&S Chippers and The Super Strokers sit just one point behind the leaders, while Tailgaters and Proper Etiquette remain well within striking distance heading into Round 2.

One great week could completely reshuffle the leaderboard.

Plenty of Golf Left

Golf Bros, Lefroy GC, Puff Puff Par, The Slice Is Right, Balls Deep, Busch Wackers, and Greens Queens all have lots of golf remaining.

The beauty of the Scramble Series format is that one hot round can change everything. With several events still to come, no team is out of contention this early in the season.

Thank You

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made opening night such a success:

  • All 15 teams for bringing the energy.
  • Shanty Bay Golf Club for hosting us on the Frontier 9.
  • Our sponsors and volunteers for helping create an unforgettable experience.
  • Everyone who contributed to our fundraiser for the RVH Foundation.

Round 1 was everything we hoped it would be—competitive golf, new friendships, plenty of laughs, and a community coming together for a great cause.

The leaderboard is officially underway.

Who’s making the biggest move in Round 2?

We’ll find out soon. 🏌️⛳🔥

Round 2 Recap – New Leaders, Big Moves & Another Great Night for Charity!

June 18, 2026 | Shanty Bay Golf Club – Frontier 9

Two weeks in, and the Simcoe County Golf Scramble Series is already proving that every point matters.

Round 2 brought another beautiful evening at Shanty Bay Golf Club’s Frontier 9, with close matches, plenty of laughs, and another incredible show of generosity from our golfers. This week’s featured charity was the Barrie Food Bank, and thanks to our players we collected cash donations and food donations to help support local families in need.

It’s amazing to see a competitive golf league making a real impact off the course as well.

Another Premium Player Gift

Every team was surprised with a custom team-inspired engraved metal stash tin, individually designed to match each team’s personality and name. Watching everyone compare their tins before teeing off quickly became one of the highlights of the evening.

To help raise even more money for the Barrie Food Bank, we also ran a couple of fun on-course fundraising contests, adding another layer of competition while supporting a great cause.

We Have a New Leader!

After opening the season in fourth place, The Happy Gilmores put together another outstanding round to climb into 1st place overall with 31 points.

Right behind them sits Severn Shank Redemption at 30 points, continuing their incredibly consistent start to the season.

One of the biggest stories of the night belongs to The Super Strokers, who vaulted from the middle of the pack all the way into 3rd place after a fantastic Week 2 performance.

The defending Week 1 leaders, Double D’s, slipped to fourth but remain only two points off the lead, while Tailgaters quietly climbed into the Top 5 after another solid showing.

The Championship Is Wide Open

Just look at how tight the standings have become.

Only five points separate 1st from 6th place, meaning one great round could completely change the leaderboard.

Lefroy GC made one of the biggest jumps of the week, climbing from 10th to 6th, proving that no team is too far back to make a run.

Meanwhile, Proper Etiquette, K&S Chippers, Golf Bros, Puff Puff Par, and Balls Deep are all still within striking distance with five rounds remaining.

Plenty of Golf Left

While Mr. Appliance finds themselves at the bottom of the standings after missing Round 2, there’s still lots of golf left to play. With the unique points format and several rounds remaining, every team still has opportunities to climb the leaderboard.

One hot night can completely change the season.

Thank You

A huge thank you once again to everyone who made Round 2 another memorable night.

Thank you to every golfer who donated food or cash to support the Barrie Food Bank, participated in our fundraising contests, and helped continue building an incredible community around the Scramble Series.

We’re only two rounds in, but the competition is heating up. New rivalries are forming, the leaderboard is tightening, and every shot is starting to matter just a little bit more.

Five rounds remain… and the race for the inaugural Simcoe County Golf Scramble Series championship is just getting started. ⛳🔥

Round 3 Recap – A New Course, A Tighter Leaderboard & Supporting Mental Health

July 9, 2026 | Shanty Bay Golf Club – Rangeland 9

Three rounds are now in the books, and if there was ever any doubt that the inaugural Simcoe County Golf Scramble Series was going to be competitive, the leaderboard has officially put that to rest.

Round 3 took us to the Rangeland 9 at Shanty Bay Golf Club, where another summer evening set the stage for great golf, plenty of birdies, and another incredible opportunity to give back to our community.

This week’s featured charity was CMHA Simcoe County, with players helping raise funds to support local mental health programs and services. Mental health affects so many people in our communities, and we’re proud that our golfers continue to make a difference beyond the scorecard.

A Premium Player Gift

Every team received a custom laser engraved leather bag tag, personalized with their team name. It was another unique keepsake exclusively for Scramble Series players and quickly became one of everyone’s favourite player gifts so far this season.

One of our goals has always been to make every event feel special, and seeing custom gear hanging from golf bags all over the course was a pretty awesome sight.

The Race for First Is Heating Up

The leaderboard has never been closer.

The Super Strokers have climbed into sole possession of 1st place with 46 points, but they’re hardly comfortable.

Sitting just one point back are both The Happy Gilmores and Double D’s, tied at 45 points, while Proper Etiquette and Severn Shank Redemption remain right in the hunt with 44 points each.

That’s just two points separating the top five teams after three rounds.

One great evening—or one tough nine holes—could completely reshuffle the standings.

Every Position Still Matters

Behind the leaders, the battle is just as competitive.

Lefroy GC continues to stay within striking distance at 41 points, followed closely by K&S Chippers(40) and Tailgaters (39).

Further down the standings, Balls Deep, Golf Bros, Puff Puff Par, The Slice Is Right, Mr. Appliance, Greens Queens, and Busch Wackers all remain capable of making significant moves over the remaining events.

With our points system rewarding consistency every round, no team is out of contention. A strong finish over the next few events could completely change the championship picture.

More Than Just Golf

The Scramble Series continues to be about much more than competition.

Every round brings together golfers from across Simcoe County to enjoy the game, meet new people, support local charities, and build something special within our golf community.

Seeing teams laughing on the tee boxes, celebrating long putts, and cheering each other on is exactly what this league was created for.

Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Round 3 at Shanty Bay Golf Club, donated in support of CMHA Simcoe County, and helped make another event such a success.

Thank you as well to all of our sponsors, volunteers, and players for continuing to support the vision of the Simcoe County Golf Scramble Series.

Three rounds are complete, but the season is far from over.

With only a couple of points separating the top teams, every shot from here on out carries a little more weight.

We can’t wait to see everyone back at Shanty Bay Golf Club for Round 4, where another great evening of golf, community, and friendly competition awaits.

The chase for the inaugural Scramble Series Championship is officially on. ⛳🏆
